The Lazy Marketers Best Friend – The Autoresponder

The Lazy Marketers Best Friend – The Autoresponder

One of the first questions new (and even experienced) marketers often ask is: “What’s the best autoresponder service or email marketing tool?”  autoresponders and email marketing tools are some of the most important parts of your business.

You use it to follow-up with customers. It can be a somewhat difficult and time consuming task to find the right autoresponder, but there are a lot of choices available on the Internet, each one ranging in price and features.

Before you decide to purchase your own autoresponder, you should first think about your budget as well as your requirements.  This way, you’ll know what you want and how much you are willing to spend.

First, you’ll need to decide the features you want.  Next, you’ll need to take a look at some of the different types of autoresponders available on the market.  You’ll also need to decide which type is right for you, and which brand name you think would work the best.

You can answer these questions by comparing different brands, prices, features, and licensing restrictions.

To keep people coming back to your site.

To build loyalty.

To make sales.

Yet the answer is often not so clear cut. Do you want the highest deliver-ability possible? Do you want to import offline contacts? Do you want to integrate your list management with a shopping cart? Do you want to spend $20 a month or $500 a month?

The answer to these questions all yield very different answers. Here are the top 10 autoresponders, but I’m only going to talk about a few of them because it’s up to you on who you really want to use.

Aweber

I hate to sound bios, but I use Aweber and I have been using it for years. I highly recommend it over most of all the other responders out there and they have always have a promotion going on.

So if you’re managing a list in the hundreds, thousands or low tens of thousands and you only collect leads through the internet, then there’s no better service than Aweber.

Send Your First Email Newsletter Today – AWeber Communications

Aweber doesn’t really allow you to add leads from offline sources.

However, for online lists, Aweber sports the best deliver-ability ratings on the market. If you’re primarily using online opt-in forms, use Aweber. Your emails will get delivered, opened and clicked on.

Mailchimp

MailChimp is a fantastic place for beginning marketers to get started. Their “forever free” plan allows you to create a list on MailChimp for free as long as your list is under 500 users.

When you’re just starting out, that’s more than enough. If you don’t want to start paying for autoresponders yet, go ahead and give MailChimp a shot, it is a great first step as an email marketing tool.

Mailchimp is also easy to navigate. At least for those who are just starting out and your doing eCommerce like Shopify. I will admit, I to have a Shopify store called “Concepte for Less” and I’m using Mailchimp. Only because I wanted to see how it worked.

This is a good tool to work with. Like anything in the internet marketing world, once you start building that list, it’s not always easy to transfer your people to another responder unless you have some knowledge built up and even that might not help.

Getresponce

One of the older email marketing programs on the market today, GetResponse remains a top-notch product with a lot to offer.

In its early years, the company operated exclusively in the European market; however, over the past decade GetResponse has made a concentrated effort to expand its reach to the American market.

GetResponse currently serves over 350,000 businesses from 182 countries, ranging from micro-businesses to well-known companies such as Marriott, Hilton, and the Blue Man Group.

The software is definitely worth a look, even for those with no prior experience in the field. It offers a fantastic feature set at a very reasonable price – and the full array of features are available to all subscribers, regardless of list size.

With GetResponse, you get access to extensive A/B testing options, single-click list segmentation, and a tremendously helpful array of tools and reports. Read the full review for details.

GetResponse is a solid autoresponder choice for small businesses. It’s also geared primarily towards list sizes of mid tens of thousands or fewer. They have a strong reputation in the industry and offer a wide variety of features.

My Conclusion

Basically, there are three main types of autoresponders that I’ve listed above that you can choose from. These are the most common ones.

Yes I listed other sites as well and didn’t write anything about them

I did this for your benefit in case you had heard or seen one of them on a website and forgot what their name was.

Yes I’m a nice guy.

Go look them all up and watch the videos or read whats on their sites. This way you can get a feel for it and get more detailed information on what their offering.

So before you decide on which type of autoresponder to purchase, you should make sure that you understand what each type will offer you.

There are a variety of autoresponders to choose from, meaning that some of them may not offer you what you need.

You need to research each type, and then compare prices and features before you create a home for your list of emails.  This way, you’ll know which type of autoresponder will work the best for your needs as well as your business including your pocket book or wallet.
